Cheeky monkey's camera boob

A student has become a global internet star after holiday photos showing her fending off a playful monkey went viral.

Charmian Chen, 22, who is also a model, was feeding long-tailed macaques when one decided to retrieve a piece of corn that had fallen down her top.

As she struggled with the monkey, her dress was forced a little too far down - leaving Miss Chen struggling to maintain her modesty.

Now the photos have made her into an internet star making headline news in her native country and around the world.

The pictures - taken while she visited the Sacred Monkey Forest Ubud, in Bali - have appeared on blog sites and forums in the US, Europe and Britain.

She said: "I was on holiday and at first the pictures were just funny, but when I got back to Taiwan I had all these people trying to add me as friends on Facebook.

"I thought 'that's bit strange', and then one of them said they'd seen the pictures and I was really surprised. The next thing I knew I had TV stations ringing me.

"I was on vacation then in Bali so I didn't mind it, but back in Taiwan I was still studying so I didn't want to become famous just for my boobs."

  • Dog shoots hunter in buttocks

A US hunter was rushed to hospital after being shot in the buttocks by his dog.

The 46-year-old man was hit after his "excited" pet stepped on a shotgun in his boat, reports the Daily Telegraph.

He escaped serious injury, receiving only minor wounds to his buttocks and probably a bigger one to his pride.

Police said the man had been duck hunting with a friend on the Great Salt Lake, Utah, when the bizarre accident happened.

The hunter, from Brigham City, was shot as he climbed out of the boat to move decoys in an area of shallow marsh.

Deputy chief sheriff Kevin Potter said: "The dog got excited, was jumping around inside the boat and then it jumped on the gun.

"It went off, shooting the decoy setter in the buttocks. I don't know if the safety device was on. It's not impossible the dog could have taken it off safety."

Mr Potter said the man was hit from about 10 feet away with 27 pellets of birdshot during the incident at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.

He wasn't seriously injured, in part because he was wearing waders or thick, waterproof trousers.

The men called 911 and walked to a nearby main road to wait for emergency crews. The wounded hunter was then transported to a local hospital.

  • Dog walks backwards on hind legs

A man in China says his clever pet dog walks backwards on his hind legs for more than a mile a day.

Hu Xianwei, of Handan, Hebei Province, says four-year-old Pekinese Zhu Zhu is brilliant at picking up new tricks.

"When I first got him he would let me know when he was hungry by licking my hand and rolling back and forth in front of me," he said.

"I decided to start teaching him tricks - like standing on his hind legs, squatting and waving his paws - and he's so smart he would master each one within a day or two.

"His best trick is playing war games. When I point my hand at him, shaped like a gun, he stands motionless until I say 'bang' when he drops to the floor and plays dead."

Hu takes Zhu Zhu for a walk each day and says he loves to show off, walking backwards on his back legs for two kilometres.

"He even looks backwards over his shoulder to look out for obstacles. And he bows to passers-by when they praise him," he added.

"As long as he has an audience, he is happy to show off his skills - he doesn't need any other reward. I would never sell him!"

  • Man 'flies' down mountains

A Norwegian man who 'flies' down mountains at speeds of more than 150mph claims he is the world's fastest human being.

Espen Fadnes wears a wingsuit which he opens out to direct his flight after leaping from the top of almost sheer cliffs.

Video footage filmed via a headcam - entitled Sense of Flying - has been posted on YouTube and notched up more than 300,000 hits.

It shows him jumping from the top of a mountain in Stryn, rocketing through a gorge as he descends 1,240 metres towards a fjord.

His wingsuit features extra fabric under his arms and between his legs to provide extra lift.

But one user commented: "That's not flying - that's falling with style!"

  • Midnight Colorado Earthquake Startles Residents, Damages Few Homes

A midnight Colorado earthquake, the strongest to hit the state since 1973, woke startled resident on Monday night.

The 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 11:46 P.M. Monday night about nine miles outside of Trinidad, Colo., which is located on Colorado's border with New Mexico.

The U.S. Geological Survey revealed that Trinidad, Colo.; Raton, N.M.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and La Junta, Colo. were among the most impacted regions.

The earthquake, though severe by Colorado standards, did not cause any major destruction or injuries save for some minor structural damage at homes near the epicenter and minor damages to highways nearby.

It did, however, disrupt Colorado residents, many of whom called or checked online to find out what was happening.

"I thought maybe a car had hit my house. Then I called to my son and he said it was the third (quake) today," an elderly Trinidad resident told the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Colorado is considered a region of minor earthquake activity. The strongest recorded in modern times is a 6.6-magnitude earthquake in 1882, which was felt as far as Salt Lake City, Utah, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

In 1901, an earthquake cracked windows and rolled boulders onto the highway. In 1944, an earthquake cracked walls and chimneys. In 1967 and 1973, Colorado experienced strong earthquakes. However, unlike Monday's natural earthquake, they were ultimately determined to have been man-made.

  • Widescreen: Airbus unveils transparent airplane

Airbus has unveiled a futuristic concept for a transparent plane that may be everyday air transport in 2050. With its see-through aircraft cabin, passengers of the future will get a window on the world as they fly through the sky. They will be able to see everything to the sides and in front of them.

The concept cabin unveiled at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London, would be a bionic structure that 'mimics' the efficiency of the bird bone, claimed the company.

It would provide strength where needed, and also allows for an intelligent' cabin wall membrane, which controls air temperature and can become transparent to give passengers open, panoramic views.

The company believes that mid-century passengers might be able to enjoy a game of virtual golf or take part in interactive conferences, while the cabin 'identifies and responds' to travelers' needs.

In the 'interactive zone' there are virtual pop-up projections taking passengers to whichever social scene they want to be in, from holographic gaming to virtual changing rooms for active shoppers.

The 'smart tech zone' is tailored towards the more functional-orientated passenger with what Airbus describes as 'a chameleon-style offering.'

It aims to meet individual needs ranging from a simple to a complete luxury service, but all allowing 'you to continue life as if on the ground'.

"Our research shows that passengers of 2050 will expect a seamless travel experience while also caring for the environment," the Daily Mail quoted Airbus engineering executive vice-president Charles Champion as saying.

"The concept cabin is designed with that in mind, and shows that the journey can be as much a voyage of discovery as the destination," he added.

  • Sex robot unveiled in China

A Chinese company has unveiled a sex robot which it claims can recognise - and even chat to - its owner.

The 5ft 5ins robot has realistic skin and muscles made of silicon gel on an advanced medical metal skeleton.

Love Sex Company manager Li Jian said the £3,000 robots were aimed at well-paid executives who were too busy to meet real women.

Customers could choose the face and figure of their robot which would be programmed to recognise its owner's face and hold conversations with him, or her, in a choice of languages.

It can also be controlled remotely to take up different positions and some body parts can even shake, added Li.

The doll attracted crowds of curious onlookers when it was unveiled at a Sex Culture Exhibition in Xi'an, capital of western China's Shaanxi Province.

  • Designer creates solar-powered bikini

A New York-based designer has invented a solar-powered bikini so wearers can charge their iPod or camera as they lie in the sun.

Andrew Schneider, 30, sewed together 40 paper-thin photo-voltaic panels together with soft conductive thread to produce his iKini which comes complete with USB ports sewn into the fabric.

Mr Schneider told the International Business Times that he came up with the idea during a brainstorming session at New York University.

"I didn't really have anything exciting so I leaned over to my friend and just jokingly said that I was going to make a bikini that could cool your beer at the beach," he said.

He then decided there was some merit in the idea and started work on developing a prototype - before realising there were an important stumbling block.

"The original bikini didn't have enough surface area to kick out the juice necessary to... cool the beer, so I downgraded to a lower power device. I plugged in my iPod and it worked," he said.

He is now selling the iKinis with prices ranging from £300 to £900 with each one custom-built and tailor-made for the wearer.

The designer now plans to go back to his original idea by developing shorts for men that can keep drinks cold.

"We're currently building and testing prototypes for the iDrink. It's just going to have to have more surface area so we're using men's board shorts," he explained.

Hundreds of young shoppers endured the rain in their underwear to queue up outside a London fashion store in the hope of winning free clothes.

Spanish label Desigual promised an outfit of their choice to the first 100 people who showed up at their Regent Street branch, reports the Evening Standard.

The first punters turned up at 11pm the previous night and by morning the queue was 300-strong, meaning many left disappointed.

Crowds flooded through the doors, grabbing their favourite pieces off the pegs before leaving the shop fully clothed.

One 22-year-old girl said: "I have been queuing from 2am this morning, it's been amazing - a little cold but definitely worth it to get some free clothes."

The stunt also took place in Stockholm, Amsterdam and Berlin under the slogan: "Arrive half naked - leave fully dressed."

  • Couple arrested for sex in cathedral

Two protesters were arrested after stripping off naked to have sex in front of the alter in the middle of a service at Oslo Cathedral.

Police arrived to seize the pair - members of the F*** for Forests group - after one shocked churchgoer dialed 999.

Other furious parishioners pulled the couple apart and held them until police arrived, and also grabbed a man that had been taking pictures of the act.

A police spokesman confirmed: "We arrested three people for sexual activity in front of the altar in Oslo Cathedral."

A spokesman for the trio - who have not been identified by police - said: "We had to pay a small fine or spend 16 days in jail. We chose the former because we didn't want to spend so long without having sex."

Swedish pressure group F*** For Forests is trying to publicise global deforestation by having sex in public to draw attention to the problem.

It believes in campaigning for the cause by outraging public decency.

  • Paralyzed man can stand and walk again, thanks to spinal implant

Here's an amazing story to end your week on a high note: a 25-year-old paraplegic is now walking again, thanks to a groundbreaking procedure developed by neuroscientists at the University of Louisville, UCLA and Cal Tech. The Oregon man, Rob Summers, was paralyzed below the chest in 2006, after getting hit by a speeding car. This week, however, doctors announced that Summers can now stand up on his own and remain standing for up to four minutes. With the help of a special harness, he can even take steps on a treadmill and can move his lower extremities for the first time in years. It was all made possible by a spinal implant that emits small pulses of electricity, designed to replicate signals that the brain usually sends to coordinate movement. Prior to receiving the implant in 2009, Summers underwent two years of training on a treadmill, with a harness supporting his weight and researchers moving his legs. This week's breakthrough comes after 30 years of research, though scientists acknowledge that this brand of epidural stimulation still needs to be tested on a broader sample of subjects before any definitive conclusions can be drawn. Summers, meanwhile, seems understandably elated. "This procedure has completely changed my life," the former baseball player said. "To be able to pick up my foot and step down again was unbelievable, but beyond all of that my sense of well-being has changed." We can only imagine.

  • Cassidy Arrested In New Jersey, Suspected Of Murder

Philadelphia rapper Cassidy has reportedly been arrested by New Jersey cops Saturday (May 14) while traveling in the Garden State on an arrest warrant.

The Philadelphia Police warrant squad called the Hackensack Police Department on Saturday morning to tell officers there was an open warrant for Hackensack resident Barry Reese, also known as the rapper Cassidy, Hackensack police Lt. Timothy Lloyd said.

"The warrant was for violating probation, but Reese is also a suspect in a murder and two attempted murders in Philadelphia, Lloyd said. Philadelphia police knew from a prior investigation that the rapper lived in Hackensack."

Cassidy was reportedly caught off guard when approached and arrested.

Philadelphia police told their Hackensack counterparts "to consider this person armed and dangerous," and this was a "high-risk warrant."

Officers from the Hackensack Police Emergency Response Team and the police department's juvenile bureau watched Reese's home Saturday on Reilly Court.

Reese left his house about 1:30 p.m. and was followed by police to a local convenience store, Lloyd said. An undercover ERT officer went in the store and positively identified Reese, he said. When Reese came out of the store, "the ERT units moved in and conducted a felony motor vehicle stop."

Reese "was very surprised the officers who arrested the rapper "did an outstanding job," he said. "Without the proper teamwork going on, this could have spiraled out of control quickly."

No one was injured in the arrest, Lloyd said. Reese, 28, will be brought to the Bergen County Jail Annex to await extradition to Philadelphia, Lloyd said.

  • Magnet Boy's big attraction

A six-year-old Croatian boy astounds his family and friends with his 'magnetic' body.

Ivan Stoiljkovic is reportedly able to stick metallic objects such as spoons, mobile phones and even frying pans to his body.

And his family, who live in a village near Koprivnica, say he can carry up to 25kg of metal stuck to his torso at a time.

He demonstrated his special talent to local journalists by taking off his shirt and sticking cutlery, a frying pan and even dumbbells to his body.

And his family claim he also has the ability to heal people with his hands, alleviating his grandfather's stomach pains and taking away the pain of a neighbour who hurt his leg in a tractor accident.

Ivan's grandfather, Ivo Stoiljkovic, said when his grandson laid his hands on his stomach they became extremely hot and the pain simply went away.

Ivan is also said to be much stronger than other children his age and is able to easily carry bags of cement as heavy as 50lbs.

A former shoeshine boy who was born without legs is following his dream of becoming an acrobat.

Lv Li, 30, from Shidao County, Dengfeng, Henan Province, now makes a living by performing acrobatic stunts in the street.

Lv's ambition is to be admitted to an acrobatic troupe - although he says he will be happy to continue performing on the street if he's unsuccessful.

"I love acrobatics, and I feel happy when doing it," he said.

"My health is not so good these days, and the cities are getting stricter with street performers. But I will carry on for as long as I can."

His routine, which includes handstands, snake charming, and fire-breathing, regularly attracts big crowds in the cities where he performs across the region.

His determination to overcome his disability has moved many people who have seen him perform, including a businessman who says his example stopped him from taking his own life.

High flying air hostesses are being taught high kicking kung-fu skills - to deck drunk passengers who try to grope them.

The Chinese stewardesses are taking classes in deadly Wing Chun which teaches students how to knock an aggressor out cold within seconds.

Airline bosses say their flight attendants have to deal with at least three cases a week where amorous drunks try to paw them.

"It is for their own safety and the safety of other passengers that they learn how to defend themselves.

"This kung fu works best at very close range so it is ideal for a plane," said instructor Sifu Lu Heng.

  • Police officers 'appear in porn film'

Two Los Angeles traffic officers face losing their jobs after they appeared in a porn video while on duty.

The two uniformed men reportedly spank and fondle a blonde actress in broad daylight in the film, reports the LA Times.

The Los Angeles Police Department and City Attorney have joined a rapidly escalating investigation into the parking enforcement officers.

The case first surfaced in January this year when TV station KCBS showed stills from the film to LA's Department of Transportation.

Officials then responded by saying the cars appeared to be their vehicles but the officers could not be identified from the pixelated images.

Now, another station, KNBC-TV Channel 4, reports that the porn video itself has surfaced on an adult subscription website.

It shows the blonde actress approaching a city traffic officer and jumping into his arms. The officer spanks the woman and fondles her bare breasts, the station said on its website.

A second officer is spanked by the actress, who then gets into an official city car and performs lewd acts on herself, according to KNBC's account.

Agency spokesman Amir Sedadi said: "After we were provided the names of the individuals allegedly involved in the misconduct, both employees were immediately placed on administrative leave."

The Los Angeles Police Department, City Attorney, and Personnel Department had all agreed to assist in the investigation and provide recommendations, he added.

Police chiefs in China have set up a matchmaking service for single SWAT-team officers who are too busy to meet partners.

Posters showing photos of the 54 male and female special forces officers sprung up outside a police station in the capital Beijing along with catalogues listing their likes and dislikes.

"About 5,000 people visited the police station when we launched it so it has already been a big success," said a police spokesman.

"Special officers train all the time and have very dangerous, tough duties which leave them no time to socialise.

"And unlike ordinary police they don't meet nice, regular people in the line of duty, just very dangerous criminals," they added.

  • Kung fu football school!

Shaolin monks are hoping to improve China's poor football performance with a new training school which combines football with kung fu.

Shi Yanlu, head of the venture at the world famous Shaolin Temple, says he believes the disciplines of kung fu will benefit young footballers.

He has selected 40 young monks to train at the school under the supervision of martial arts experts and former international footballers.

Yanlu said: "Right now, China's football performance is really disappointing. We hope by combining kung fu elements and spirit, Chinese football can perform better."

As well as regular football training, the monks focus on aspects of the martial art, such as balance and leg strength, which will make them better footballers.

"They have superb physical qualities, and they are learning things very quickly. We will try to meld the kung fu into the football training, hopefully improving the level of Chinese football," added Yanlu.

"The kids here all have a spirit of hard-work. We will invite some outstanding coaches to teach them. Hopefully we can have several international football stars of the future here."

The Shaolin Monk Football Training Base is being backed by the China Football Association which has provided equipment, including 1,000 footballs. It now plans to build more pitches for students to play on.

  • Spider bite causes four hour erection!

Scientists believe a spider could lead to a breakthrough in sexual health after finding a single bite can cause a four hour erection.

Researchers at the Medical College of Georgia believe the venom of the Brazilian wandering spider could lead to a new cure for erectile dysfunction.

Dr Kenia Nunes, a physiologist at the college, said it works in a different way to Viagra, reports the Daily Mail.

"This is good because we know that some patients don't respond to the conventional therapy. This could be an optional treatment for them," she said.

Her study, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, involved experiments using hypertensive rats with severe erectile dysfunction.

"The toxin was able to normalise the erectile dysfunction in these animals," said Dr Nunes.

However, further research is required. Other side-effects can include loss of muscle control, severe pain, difficulty breathing and death.

Dr Nunes added: "The venom of the Phoneutria nigriventer spider is a very rich mixture of several molecules.

"These molecules are called toxins, and then we have various toxins in this venom with different activity.

"Because of this, when a human is bitten by this spider, we can observe many different symptoms including priapism, a condition in which the penis is continually erect."

  • Immigration officer put wife on terror list

An immigration officer was so sick of his wife that he put her on a terrorist watch list - so she couldn't get home from Pakistan.

The officer added her name to the register of people banned from flights into the UK while she was visiting family overseas, reports The Mirror.

When she went to the airport to get her return flight back, officials told her she could not board the plane and did not explain why.

She called her husband, who promised to look into it - but left her stuck in Pakistan for three years while he had the "time of his life".

An immigration source said: "A lot of people may dislike their other halves but to do this takes it to the next level.

"Needless to say she was confused when she got to the airport as she had never been involved in anything criminal or terrorist related.

"She obviously thought her husband, being an immigration officer, would be able to find out what was going on.

"Little did she know it was him who had put her on the list. By all accounts he then had the time of his life."

The officer was caught out when bosses vetted him after he went for a promotion that required him to have a higher level of security clearance.

They realised his wife was on the watch list and asked him for an explanation. He had no choice but to confess what he had done - and was fired.

A circus tightrope walker set a new world record by completing a walk on a cable car wire - nearly two miles above the ground.

Freddy Nock, 46, did not use a harness or safety nets for the stunt near the Swiss mountain resort of St Moritz.

Using only a balancing stick, he walked down the cable of a funicular on Mount Corvatsch - which is 9,908 feet above sea level.

He shuffled along the cable for some 5,249 feet, starting from the mountain station - at an altitude of 10,836 feet - to the middle station, which is 8,865 feet above sea level.

Nock, who starting learning acrobatic skills at the age of four, successfully completed the walk on his second attempt, after bad weather forced him to stop earlier in the day.

He previously performed similar stunts Germany, staging a climb over the slopes of the country's highest mountain, and walking 900-metres over Lake Zurich.

  • Woman arrested for mooning cops

A US woman has been arrested - for mooning the police officers who arrested her brother.

Rita Zambrano, 45, of Hamblen County, Tennessee, saw police arresting her brother for driving offences.

She allegedly turned around, dropped her drawers and showed the officers her naked backside, reports Knox News.

Ironically, she is still behind bars, charged with indecent exposure, while her brother Ronnie Waddell, 44, has been released on bail.

Police officer David Gulley said Waddell was arrested after officers saw him driving a car outside of his sister's apartment.

As he and another officer cuffed Waddell, Gulley said that Zambrano stood in her doorway and harassed the officers.

"She was standing at her door and mooned me through the window on her front door," Gulley said.

Gulley said he was too busy to deal with Zambrano at the time, so he took Waddell to jail, then later issued a warrant for her arrest.

  • Woman tried to post live puppy

A US woman has been charged with animal cruelty after she parcelled up a live puppy and tried to post it more than 1,100 miles.

Police say Stacey Champion, 39, tried to air-mail the dog from Minneapolis to Atlanta, Georgia, for a child's birthday.

She was stopped from posting the parcel when a stunned postal worker saw it move and then heard it panting, reports the Star Tribune newspaper.

Within minutes, postal workers had unwrapped the tightly sealed box and rescued a four-month-old puppy, called Guess.

Police Sgt Angela Dodge said it would have taken at least two days for the box, which had airholes - unfortunately covered up with tape, to arrive at its destination.

"It's just crazy," she said. "It was supposed to be a birthday gift for a family member. It would have been kind of traumatising to get a dead puppy.

"If you don't identify it so that it can be handled properly, it goes into the cargo hold of an airplane. And there was no food or water. Puppies can't go for long periods without food or water."

Thompson Ojoyeyi, supervisor at the post office, said the woman cautioned postal workers to "be careful, be careful" as they handled the box because "it was so delicate".

On the outside of the package she had written: "This is for your 11th birthday. It's what you wanted." She told the clerk not to worry if she heard sounds from the package as it contained a toy robot.

Guess has been taken in at the city's animal control facility and will be put up for adoption if Champion is convicted of animal cruelty.

  • Lorry driver hits pylon 'while texting'

A lorry driver sparked a 100 square mile blackout in China when he ploughed into a massive electricity pylon.

The 200ft pylon was left teetering at 45 degrees after Sing Lu, 35, smashed his truck into it in Tianjin, northern China.

He later admitted to police officers that he had been trying to send a text message on his mobile phone at the time of the accident.

"He said afterwards he had been texting on his mobile phone and hadn't been paying attention. Even so, it would be hard not to see something that size," said a police spokesman.

The damage to the pylon created a massive electrical surge which knocked out the local power station, plunging thousands of local homes and businesses into darkness, say officials.

Rescue workers spent five days clearing the debris from the road and electrical engineers took almost a week to restore power.

  • Girl, 5, survives 100ft fall from window

A five-year-old girl had an amazing escape after she fell from the window of a 10th floor flat, hit a ground floor awning and survived.

Ye Zixu suffered only scratches and bruises in the 100ft fall from her family's flat in the Chinese city of Chongqing.

Yan, a street vendor who saw what he initially thought was a red doll falling, said she made a loud bang when she hit the awning.

"I only realised it was actually a kid when somebody shouted that a child had fallen from a high window," he said.

"We thought she couldn't possibly have survived - and then we heard crying from the top of the awning."

A young man grabbed a ladder to check on the girl and was amazed to see that she was already sitting up.

Ye Zixu crawled to the edge of the awning to be helped down - but slipped and fell.

Luckily, she was caught by another witness, dentist Jiang Yuansheng, who ran with the girl to a nearby hospital.

She was later transferred to the city's South West Hospital where doctors pronounced her fit and well, but for a slight myocardical contusion.

  • Cheeky owl steals show at wedding

A cheeky owl almost stole the show on a couple's wedding day.

The injured bird popped up into the front of an official wedding photo, and was picked out by the camera's autofocus, leaving happy couple Libby Higgins and Jim Pearn blurred.

But luckily the newlyweds didn't get in a flap when 'Sam Adams' made his appearance - and the snap has become a favourite in their wedding album..

They were all smiles to see the resident of the John J Audubon Centre bird sanctuary in Pennsylvania.

Libby, 26, said: "He was hit by a car right near the Audubon Society and the bones under his eye were severed so badly that his tear ducts no longer work.

"They need to give him artificial tears. Poor little guy. We loved the little fellow and were only too happy to have our picture taken with him - even if he turned out to be the star."

Sam Adams was being shown around accompanied by a handler after the wedding ceremony when the photo was taken.

Libby added: "You better believe that the owl tried to steal the show!"

  • Porsche's Black Beauties

The new Boxster S and 911 Black Editions have both been revealed ahead of their public debuts at Marchs Geneva motor show.

Porsche won't be sponsoring the New Zealand rugby team at this year's World Cup as far as we know, but that hasn't stopped the German car maker from unveiling two all-black sports cars.

The new Boxster S and 911 Black Editions have both been revealed ahead of their public debuts at March's Geneva motor show, though it's the roadster that brings more colour with extra power and speed.

The new Boxster S Black Edition gains extra power over the regular S, managing an extra 7kW of power and 10Nm of torque from the same 3.4-litre six-cylinder to increase outputs to 235kW and 370Nm respectively.

The Black Edition is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or Porsche's seven-speed dual-clutch PDK 'box with sports shifters ($5300 extra), and is limited to just 987 models worldwide.

The Black Edition's extra power/torque output cuts the 0-100km/h sprint time by a tenth of a second over the regular Boxster S manual model to 5.2 seconds, while the PDK also shaves off another tenth to achieve 5.1 seconds.

Styling additions include the fitment of sporty silver-rimmed, black 19-inch wheels borrowed from the Boxster Spyder, as well as blackened twin tailpipes, side air intakes and black rollover bars.

The retractable soft-top roof is also black, and there's no prize for guessing the colour of the only exterior paint available.

Darkened interior additions include the gear selector, dashboard trim elements and part-leather seats, as well as limited edition interior badging (with build number) and unique scuff plates. It also gets a sportier-looking steering wheel, black instrument dials and touch-screen infotainment system with sat-nav.

Potential buyers aren't likely to be in a black mood when they find out the price - the Boxster S Black Edition wears the same price tag as the regular Boxster S, starting at $132,400 (plus costs) for the manual and $137,700 for the PDK version.

Porsche's 911 Black Edition gets similar treatment, with loads of dark add-ons inside and out, though the power output from the 3.6-litre 'boxer' engine remains unchanged at 254kW.

Just 1911 Black Edition 911s will be sold worldwide, with local pricing positioned at the same point as the base-model Carrera - $223,000 for the Coupe and $245,300 for the Cabriolet.

  • Man filmed himself being run over by train! (Video)

A stunt in which a man filmed himself being run over by a high speed train has been branded as "stupidity in the extreme".

The unknown man is seen lying lengthways between the tracks while an approaching train terrifyingly thunders over the top of him.

The 56-second clip was uploaded on YouTube where it attracted 270,000 hits before being removed, reports the Daily Mirror.

The man is seen looking up nervously at the camera as what looks like a freight train can be heard approaching in the background.

After it spends 20 seconds thundering past, mere inches from his head, the man casually checks himself for injuries, jumps up, collects his camera and runs off as the train screeches to a halt out of shot.

It is unclear whether the video was shot in the UK but Network Rail have branded the stunt as "stupidity in the extreme".

A Network Rail spokesman said: "It doesn't bear thinking about what would have happened if the turbulence created had swept the man's coat up into the underside of the train.

"Not only that but think about the effect on the train driver who believes he has just killed somebody.

"Nobody who has any regard for their own safety or the feelings of others should attempt a stunt like this."

  • Woman's phone eaten by crocodile

Zookeepers in Ukraine didn't believe a visitor who claimed a crocodile ate her mobile phone - until they heard its stomach ringing.

Rimma Golovko, a new mum in her 20s, admits being at fault for the accident at an aquarium in the eastern city of Dnipropetrovsk.

She stretched out her arm to snap a photo of Gena opening his mouth and dropped her Nokia phone into the water, reports the Daily Mail.

"This should have been a very dramatic shot, but things didn't work out," said Ms Golovko.

She told keepers what had happened but they did not believe her until they heard the phone ring.

"The sound was coming from inside our Gena's stomach and we understood she wasn't lying," said aquarium employee Alexandra.

Ms Golovko is resigned to losing her phone, but still wants its SIM card back since that has her precious photos and contacts.

The mishap has caused bigger problems for the crocodile, which has not eaten or had a bowel movement in four weeks and appears listless.

"The animal is not feeling well," said Alexandra. "His behaviour has changed, he moves very little and swims much less than he used to."

Dnipropetrovsk chief veterinarian Oleksandr Shushlenko said the crocodile will be taken for an X-ray next week if he continues to refuse food.

  • Dog loves to walk on two legs

A poodle has become something of a local celebrity in China - because he prefers to walk upright on his hind legs.

One-year-old Treasure can walk for more than half-a-mile on two legs - and often attracts crowds of fans.

Owner Dou Xianhui, 50, of Jilin City, started to train Treasure to walk on his hind legs not long after he was born - and says he took to it straight away.

"I only trained him for around a week, and then he started to walk on two legs by himself and can't seem to stop," he said.

"Since learning to walk on two legs, Treasure hardly ever walks with all four legs on the ground.

"His walking speed is about the same as mine, and he can walk like that for 20 to 30 minutes non-stop.

"Many times when I take him for his daily walk along the Songhua River, there are fans waiting, wanting to take pictures and say hello to him."

  • Man takes sex dolls on holiday

A Canadian man has left his wife at home to travel the world with six sex dolls for company.

Dave Hockey, 57, insists his wife "doesn't mind" about his £16,000 bizarre trip of a lifetime, reports The Sun.

So far, he has travelled with his fake girlfriends across Britain and America, taking in Stonehenge, the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls.

The dad-of-two said: "My wife understands it is a hobby. She isn't threatened by the dolls she knows I'm not going to run off with an 80lb piece of silicone shaped like a woman."

Mr Hockey flew 'Realdoll' Bianca and 'Teddy Babe Deluxe' Carley to Britain for trips to Oxford, Wiltshire and Abergavenny, Wales.

He also filmed a seven-week road trip across America, from his home in Nova Scotia to San Diego, meeting other doll owners for his own documentary.

And during the holiday, Bianca, a £2,000 silicone doll who featured in the film Lars and the Real Doll, was taken sky-diving, horseback riding and for on the back of a Harley Davidson motorbike.

Mr Hockey has even bought £1,270 worth of glamorous outfits for the dolls, 18 wigs at £38 each plus several pairs of stilettos.

He added: "I purchased my first dolls in November 2006. They looked cute. I think the dolls are pretty - any man is lying if he says they aren't."

His collection includes life-size dolls Jessica, Gabrielle, Jocelyn, Lilly, Ruby, Jenny, and Bianca, and the slightly smaller Teddy Babes Carley, Samantha, Diana, Miyuki, Jessica, Janelle and Nita.

  • George Lucas 'says world will end in 2012'

Star Wars producer George Lucas is said to believe the world will end in 2012.

Lucas apparently made his claims during a meeting with Steven Spielberg and comedian and actor Seth Rogen to discuss a film project.

Rogen told the Toronto Sun that Lucas's seemingly earnest belief in an impending apocalypse left him speechless.

He said: "George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is going to end in the year 2012, like, for real. He thinks it.

"He's going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like: "My nerdy friend won't shut up, I'm sorry..."

"I first thought he was joking... and then I totally realised he was serious and then I started thinking: "If you're George Lucas and you actually think the world is going to end in a year, there's no way you haven't built a spaceship for yourself... So I asked him: "Can I have a seat on it?"

"He claimed he didn't have a spaceship, but there's no doubt there's a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go... It's going to be him and Steven Spielberg and I'll be blown up like the rest of us."

The belief that the world will end in 2012 stems from the belief that the Mayan 'Long Count' calendar, which began in 3114BC, is believed to end on the winter solstice of December 21, 2012.

  • 'Crop circle' in Indonesian rice paddy

Indonesia – Thousands of curious onlookers are flocking to central Indonesia to look at a "crop circle" in a rice field following rumors it was formed by a UFO.

Though clearly sculptured by humans — it looks like an intricately designed flower — the 70-yard-wide (70-meter-wide) circle has drawn so much attention that police have blocked off the area with yellow tape.

Villagers have started charging entrance fees.

Guntur Purwanto, chief of Jogotirto village in Sleman district, said the circle appeared in the middle of the green rice paddies over the weekend.

Among those turning out Tuesday and offering opinions were officials from Indonesia's space agency, well-respected astronomers and nuclear agency officials. All agree it was not left by an UFO.

  • Jenson Button's dad forgot Ferrari

Jenson Button's dad sparked a police hunt in Italy when he reported his Ferrari stolen - only to realise he'd parked it in another town.

John Button told police that he feared his Ferrari 550 had been taken from where he parked it in Alassio, on the Italian Riviera.

For more than 48 hours, police scoured the town for the £50,000 supercar, reports the Daily Telegraph.

But then it dawned on Mr Button, 65, that he had confused Alassio with neighbouring Laigueglia, which has an almost identical layout and lies less than a mile along the coast.

He retraced his steps and sure enough, the Ferrari was parked just where he left it.

"It's all a bit embarrassing, but the roads that lead into Alassio and Laigueglia are almost identical, even the railings look the same, and they both have a fork in them," said Mr Button.

"The police found it quite amusing and once things had been resolved said 'Give our regards to Jenson'.

"Funnily enough it was not the loss of the car that upset me, it was the thought that I might have lost a camera with some amazing shots from a trip to Kyoto. I know I'm going to get a bit of ribbing over the whole thing."

Meanwhile, footballer Jermaine Pennant was contacted this week after his Porsche was found to have been left in a Spanish railway station car park for five months.

Pennant, who plays for Stoke City, reportedly said he had forgotten about the vehicle which he had parked at the station during his time with Real Zaragoza.

  • Boy scares off wolves with Megadeth

A 13-year-old Norwegian boy scared off a pack of wolves - by playing them heavy metal group Megadeth on his mobile phone.

Walter Acre was walking home from school in Rakkestad when he found himself encircled by the four snarling beasts, reports website Zvuki.ru.

Just as they seemed set to attack, the petrified youngster pulled out his phone and cranked out a song by Megadeth.

Walter had previously been told not to run away from wolves but to face them and attempt to scare them away.

And sure enough, the tactic worked as the sound of heavy metal music sent the animals scattering in confusion.

The website reports that Walter made it home safely, using one final blast of music to see off a stray wolf that was prowling close to his front porch.

  • Sven Koppler Admits To Mailing Hundreds Of Tarantulas Illegally From Germany To U.S.

LOS ANGELES - Court documents say a man has agreed to plead guilty to a smuggling charge for bringing hundreds of tarantulas into the United States by mail.

The documents filed Tuesday say 37-year-old Sven Koppler of Wachtberg, Germany, signed a plea agreement over the weekend involving one count of smuggling goods into the U.S.

He could face up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced April 11.

Federal prosecutors say Koppler mailed more than 240 live tarantulas from Germany to Los Angeles last year. Fish and Wildlife Service agents intercepted the packages then posed as customers and ordered dozens more spiders, including a protected Mexican species.

Authorities say Koppler made $300,000 by selling spiders to people in dozens of countries.
