Magnet Boy's big attraction

A six-year-old Croatian boy astounds his family and friends with his 'magnetic' body.

Ivan Stoiljkovic is reportedly able to stick metallic objects such as spoons, mobile phones and even frying pans to his body.

And his family, who live in a village near Koprivnica, say he can carry up to 25kg of metal stuck to his torso at a time.

He demonstrated his special talent to local journalists by taking off his shirt and sticking cutlery, a frying pan and even dumbbells to his body.

And his family claim he also has the ability to heal people with his hands, alleviating his grandfather's stomach pains and taking away the pain of a neighbour who hurt his leg in a tractor accident.

Ivan's grandfather, Ivo Stoiljkovic, said when his grandson laid his hands on his stomach they became extremely hot and the pain simply went away.

Ivan is also said to be much stronger than other children his age and is able to easily carry bags of cement as heavy as 50lbs.

  • Legless acrobat follows his dream

A former shoeshine boy who was born without legs is following his dream of becoming an acrobat.

Lv Li, 30, from Shidao County, Dengfeng, Henan Province, now makes a living by performing acrobatic stunts in the street.

Lv's ambition is to be admitted to an acrobatic troupe - although he says he will be happy to continue performing on the street if he's unsuccessful.

"I love acrobatics, and I feel happy when doing it," he said.

"My health is not so good these days, and the cities are getting stricter with street performers. But I will carry on for as long as I can."

His routine, which includes handstands, snake charming, and fire-breathing, regularly attracts big crowds in the cities where he performs across the region.

His determination to overcome his disability has moved many people who have seen him perform, including a businessman who says his example stopped him from taking his own life.

The man, who was depressed after his wife had an affair, said: "I thought that if a disabled person could live so positively, how could I have any reason to give up on life?"

  • Zara Hatshorn Suffers a lipodystrophy | 13 Years Old but Like a 60 Years Old

Zara Hartshorn this girls name could be popular right now in the internet since her weird and bizarre condition. even zara is only 13 years old but she looks older than her age. she looks like a granny. poor girls. Zara suffers a rare disease called lipodystrophy. When someone suffers from Lipodystrophy the body cannot produce fat cells under the skin so the aging process is so much faster. There is no cure and due to the rapid aging it can bring about diabetes, stroke and liver problems. Zara Hartshorn has been robbed of her childhood. Her mom took her out of school because the bullying was so bad. A bus driver laughed in her face recently when she tried to pay the child’s fare. Strangers stare and point in the street. Kids call her “grandma,” “monkey” and “baggy face.”

Zara is the strongest sufferer in her family. Three out of Tracey’s seven children suffers from Lipodsytrophy.

When asked what she feels when she sees her own face in the mirror, Zara said, “I don’t like it. Sometimes I’ll sit in my room and start pulling my skin back, stuff like that. Most teenagers worry about getting spots…. I’m worried about surgery and stuff like that and when’s bullying going to stop.”

Zara Hartshorn is a 13 year old girl but unfortunately she looks older than her friends’ parents as she suffers from a disease called lipodystrophy. It is a genetic disorder which makes the supporting fatty tissue under the skin to crumble while the skin continues to grow. Such a condition is extremely rare and is diagnosed in only 2,000 people around the entire world. This disease is related with insulin resistance, a high triglyceride level, diabetes and fatty liver. Every member of Zara’s family suffers from this disease but her symptoms are more serious than her older siblings. The appearance of a 50 year old woman is creating destructive effects on Zara’s social life.

Zara’s mother Tracey was also born with Lipodystrophy and she knows what Zara is going through. She could tell Zara suffered from the disease when she was just a newborn:
“I was grieving for a child that’s got to go through the same things in life that I’ve had to go through,” she said. “I was angry at myself for actually having Zara.”

“It feels like people are looking down their noses at me and staring,” she said at her home in northern England. “You know when you get that feeling you’re being watched? I feel that everywhere I go.”

Poor girls.. In my deepest heart i’ll pray for zara to gather a better life and she could recover from that condition even i know it’s not an easy disease but i still feels pity on her.. here’s several picture of Zara Hatshorn a teenager who looks like a grandma.

  • Yvonne Simon the Most Allergic Woman in Britain

This Britain mum was labeled as the most allergic woman in Britain, 33-year-old Yvonne Simon, from Essex, Great Britain, has a rare type of allergy that makes her shopping sessions real-life nightmares. You could say she can’t stand money. Not only money, but this woman was also allergic to rain and many things.

Yvonne has already been labeled as the most allergic woman in Britain, due to the many things that cause her allergic reactions. Among the things her body can’t stand are deodorant, perfume, paint, fizzy drinks, minerals in bottled spring water, chocolate, onions, car fumes, hydrocortisone cream, nuts, bleach, fish, tea, coffee, oranges, tomatoes, latex, talc, newsprint dye, coins, banknotes, pasta, sunflower oil, dairy products, wheat, bread products, white rice, porridge, white sugar, sweets, cigarette smoke, nickel, gold, silver, food colourings, sulphates, calcium chloride and rainwater. And these aren’t even the worst ones…

Like most women, Yvonne loves to shop, but in the last few months she had to cope with excruciating pains, every time she bought anything. It was like her body was punishing her for spending money, and in a way, it was. After extensive tests, doctors found out Yvonne’s body is also allergic to the dye in bills, and also metal coins. And, if that wasn’t bad enough, she is also allergic to latex, so she can’t wear rubber gloves to handle money. Really poor woman.. well i wonder how can she survive her life with so many allergic that she has.

Now, Britain’s most allergic woman lives on a very basic diet, made up of filtered water, lentils, brown rice, carrots and apples. She hates being like this, and wishes there was something she could do about her condition, but right now it’s incurable, and because such a wide spectrum allergy is so rare, chances for an antidote are rather slim.

But, I suppose things could be worse, she could be allergic to something even more common like rain, right? Well, unfortunately, Yvonne Simon really is allergic to rain, and has to wear an umbrella, each time she goes outdoors.

  • Mum's bid to be world's fattest

A US mother of two is waging a campaign to become the world's heaviest living woman.

Donna Simpson, 42, from New Jersey, weighs more than 42 stone and aims to reach 71 stone - or 1,000lbs, reports the Daily Telegraph.

She has her own website which gives fans the chance to pay to watch her eat greasy food or walk to the car.

"The bigger your butt is, the bigger belly you have, the sexier you are," she said.

Miss Simpson spends as much as £516 a week on groceries, suffers from diabetes and struggles with basic tasks such as cooking and taking a shower.

But she dismisses critics who warn that her weight can lead to health problems: "I'm very healthy. I go to the doctor every three months," she said.

Miss Simpson has found a man who says he appreciates her size, and they plan to marry in Hawaii this year.

Her fiance, Philippe Gouamba, 49, the father of her three-year-old daughter, says he finds her attractive and is one of her biggest supporters.

"You look at her curves and see her full belly and generous hips," he said. "It's very sexy."

A Guinness World Records spokesman said Miss Simpson has submitted a claim for the title of world's heaviest woman to give birth, a claim that is being reviewed.

A women born with no arms in China is said to be the best embroiderer in her village.

Ren Jiemei, 65, is so skilled with her feet that she can always thread a needle at the first attempt, reports Qilu Evening Post.

Her embroidering skills are so perfect that able-bodied villagers say can't compete with her in terms of speed or quality.

"I was born without arms. So from childhood, I swore to myself that I'd use my feet to do everything," she said.

Ren, of Haiyang, Shandong province, has learnt to use her feet to eat, wash, comb her hair, draw pictures and cut paper.

In her school days, she used her mouth to turn the pages, and wrote with her feet. Despite her handicap, she often topped the class.

In April 2009, Ren was invited to give speeches to Sichuan Earthquake survivors on how to cope with disability.

  • Girl, 3, smokes and drinks after accident

The parents of a three-year-old girl say she has been smoking and drinking like an adult ever since she was in a road accident.

Ya Wen lives in a shelter with her parents who collect and sell garbage for money in Huizhou in southern China's Fujian province.

Her mother, Gao, says Ya Wen is now addicted to cigarettes and will also down glasses of beer whenever she gets the chance.

Gao said her daughter's personality changed when she was knocked down by a speeding van last year, reports the Yangcheng Evening Post.

"The first time I found her smoking was in the toilet," said Gao. "Before that I often saw cigarette butts in the toilet but thought they were my husband's until I saw my daughter smoking there."

The family had tried to stop her smoking but she kept stealing them from her husband and buying them on credit from a neighbouring store.

The store owner confirmed that Ya Wen often came over and took one or two packs away: "We didn't ask, thinking she was buying for her father," he explained.

Ya Wen's father has now stopped smoking to set a better example for his daughter and the family have moved to the other side of the city.

But Gao said the little girl still cried for cigarettes whenever she saw them: "She also likes drinking. Three glasses of beer is no problem to her," she added.

Doctors in Huizhou Central People's Hospital believe head injuries suffered by Ya Wen in her accident may be to blame for her actions.

"Another possibility is that she is just imitating adults," added one doctor.

  • Tall order for smallest mum

Britain's smallest mother has described the difficulties of caring for a baby son who is already almost her height.

Amanda Moore, 25, of Hinckley, Leicestershire, risked her life to give birth to Aidan, now 14-months-old.

She has a rare bone disease which stunted her growth at 3ft 1in and left her unable to stand, reports the BBC.

At 2ft 6in, Aidan is actualy taller than his mother when she is seated.

Ms Moore said: "Now he's walking he's more than a handful for someone my size."

She said she believes Aidan could end up being as tall as his father, Steven Fyfe, 20, who is 6ft 1ins.

Ms Moore added: "When I sit on the floor to play with him, he is taller than me already and he's only 14 months old.

"He's getting so big and strong that soon we'll have to tell him to be gentle with Mummy. Most boys are bigger than their mums but not after a year."

Ms Moore suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta - brittle bone disorder - and doctors warned her becoming pregnant could prove fatal.

But Aidan was born in February 2009 weighing 5lbs 5oz and had not inherited his mother's bone condition.

  • Briton is recognised as world's first officially genderless person

May-Welby said: 'The concepts of man or woman don?t fit me. The simplest solution is not to have any sex identification'

A British expat who claims to have no gender is thought to have become the first person to be officially recognised as neither male or female.

Norrie May-Welby, 48, was born a man but had a sex change operation in 1990, at the age of 28.

After becoming unhappy as a woman, May-Welby decided to become a “neuter”. The 48-year-old is now officially recognised as a person of no specific gender.

May-Welby emigrated to Australia at the age of seven after being born in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

Officials there altered the Briton’s birth certificate to include the new no-gender classification after doctors were apparently unable to determine the sex of the expat’s body.

May-Welby said: “The concepts of man or woman don’t fit me. The simplest solution is not to have any sex identification.”

The UK’s Gender Trust welcomed the case. A spokesman said: “Many people like the idea of being genderless.”

  • World's shortest man dies, aged 21

    He Pingping

The world's shortest man, He Pingping, who stood just over two feet five inches tall (75 centimetres), has died, Britain's Guinness World Records said on Monday. He was 21.

He - a native of China who had a form of primordial dwarfism and measured 74.61cm - was in Rome taking part in a television show when he suffered chest problems.

He was taken to hospital, where he died over the weekend.

Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of London-based Guinness World Records, recalled measuring He in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia in 2008.

"For such a small man, he made a huge impact around the world," Glenday said.

"From the moment I laid on eyes on him, I knew he was someone special - he had such a cheeky smile and mischievous personality, you couldn't help but be charmed by him," he said.

"He brightened up the lives of everyone he met, and was an inspiration to anyone considered different or unusual."

Guinness World Records said it would announce He's successor as the world's shortest man in due course.

Khagendra Thapa Magar, 18, from Nepal, who is reportedly 51cm high, declared in February that he is the rightful holder of the title.
